About Me
I’ve been an IT professional for more than three decades and have had the fortune to take part in some of the biggest technology pivots we have seen. From the pioneering days of the World-Wide-Web (remember that?), the migration to cloud, and more recently the AI revolution.
I started in applications and system development (C/C++, VB6 and various UNIX scripting languages), through system architecture primarily in DR and HA, cloud architecture in the early 2010’s and now big data processing, machine learning and AI in general.

Cloud Architecture
After cutting my teeth on AWS, I now primarily focus on Azure, as well as the rest of the Microsoft cloud portfolio including Fabric and Power BI, Copilot Studio and AI Foundry.

AI/ML
Building on my foundations in classical ML, I have expanded my attention to include AI systems in general, including pre-training, fine-tuning and RAG.

DevOps
One of my first employers had a home-grown DevOps environment (before the term was invented) which allowed me to experience the magic of automation and CI/CD pipelines. Coupling this knowledge with my AI/ML skills has led to a strong interest in MLops/LLMops.
